I have played basketball since I was little and I have played ever since middle school. This is my sophomore season and I have committed to playing this year. Even though our team works extremely hard through the season and the offseason, we still are quite bad. In the past four years we have only won 1 conference game and only a handful of non-conference games. I feel as if my heart is not into the game anymore. Because of this horrible losing streak, we never have any fun. Our coach wants it so bad for us that she makes it miserable. I understand why she pushes us so hard, but it doesn’t seem to matter, we still play badly and we don’t have fun. I really don’t want to play my junior or senior years. I feel obligated though, I’m good, but not good enough to go anywhere with it after highschool, and I don’t want to play after high school. I feel like I would be letting the team down if I quit, but I would rather focus on school and my other sport softball more, because I don’t enjoy basketball anymore and I feel like I am wasting my time. But I’m having trouble deciding whether I should actually quit or not, I hate to let people down, not to mention I hate confrontation and I don’t want to bring it up to my parents until I’m absolutely sure. I don’t know what to do. Help?
