I played softball for over 15 years and now coach and I always tell me girls to point their gloves. I find those who do have much better accuracy. As for the speed factor like I said I played a long time, always pointed my glove and never had a problem of throwing anyone out.

My 11 year old is in her second year but getting better everyday. I am teacher her to point and throw because I am finding it hard to get her to point the leading shoulder towards her target. She keeps open up when throwing so I am teaching her to point. Do you think I am wrong for doing this? Thanks for your comments.

Wrong…softball …
Wrong…softball and hardball can both be recreational or competitive. There are many levels to softball as there probably is with baseball. There is house ball (recreational), rep “B” ball (a bit more competitive), and rep “A” ball (very competitive). Women can get softball scholarships to Universities just as guys can for hardball. And…although not as popular, there is a pro league for softball players as well. Make sure you know your facts first before you make your comments.
