ok. i am not a beginner, but i play 16u club softball, and i am 12 years old. i can run to first base at 2.3 seconds. when i slap my first step isnt opening my chest, if you do take your first step like this video says, you will hit it to the pitcher. wherever your chest is the ball will go. if you do not believe me, try it yourself. i am a starter slapper, and have been talked to by 5 college scouts already because they did not know i was only 12, and i do not do this technique.
