Guess what if pujols squished the bug he would hit the ball even further. We see him frequently in dominican republic he says not to get into that habit of keeping you back leg still

    That’s just some …
That’s just some incredible teaching. I think I will show it to all my opponents. Then I will throw the fastball right by them.

    Hey dude you need …
Hey dude you need to watch Pujols hit. His back foot comes off the ground. Also your hips turn the back foot. You power should always move with you when you stride. when your stride foot land you should be in a 50/50 position with your hands back in the launch position. Your hands should turn your shoulders, never have your shoulders turn your hands. So many young hitters are never taught how to use their hand properly.

I learned something important. Thanks for that tip

  8. gogetareeljob says:

    actually he does …
actually he does squish the bug, but only for like a split second. squishing the bug helps when it comes to turning your hips. but once your hips are through the zone your foot should come up to its toe. you dont want to be leaning on your front leg. but in the middle of your swing the weight should shift.

  9. bman231 says:

    yeah I have heard …
yeah I have heard of the squish the bug thing what he said is true but he has to have more detail

This is very well documented. Nice.

  12. zandersagwa says:

    There are plenty of …
There are plenty of major leaguers that DON’T squish the bug. Pujols, Rodriguez, Holliday, etc. The torque created by a good swing should naturally pull your back foot up to it’s tip toe or completely off (like most pros). In a way squishing the bug restricts the natural swing. The only major leaguer I’ve seen do it on tape is Joe Mauer.

    i really hope no …
i really hope no kids watch this, its terrible.. your helping them in no way at all.. by the way maybe you should call Albert Pujols and tell him his stance is to wide for any power..

word on the street is that no one gives a about your or his opinion.

  18. belzkid25 says:

    word on the street …
word on the street is that your having trouble hitting the ball up the middle.

  19. marseneault31 says:

    stop posting videos …
stop posting videos now…you just told players to NOT hit the ball up the middle….that is the goal of hitting…hitting the ball up the middle means you hit the ball as square as you could physically hit it. not all players can pul a ball out of the park, teach hitting as a whole, not hitting for while you are 10, make players get better not be content with just success now but using the whole field for progression in the future

  21. jakeshaw8 says:

    if you squish the …
if you squish the bug it gets your momentum going to the ball. so you dont know wat your talking about! YourMomHatesYou

  22. YourMomHatesYou says:

    Wow, you do not …
Wow, you do not know what your talking about. You can keep your feet as far apart as you want (without acting like a dumbass) what matters is your stride, keeping your weight back and as your rotating, SQUISHING THE BUG IS NOT WHAT YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO DO. Look at possibly the best hitter in baseball today, Albert Pujols, he in no way squishes the bug, he puts so much power into his swing that his back foot actually comes off the ground. Figure your stuff out before preaching it.

  23. markymarkbb says:

    because he coaches …
because he coaches both high school softball and baseball he probably was on his way to coach softball

  24. ImHatinItProductions says:

if u want good hip …
if u want good hip rotation ‘squishing the bug’ is very useful
