hey i’m 15, really short (five foot nothing), and i was wondering whether it’s too late for me to pick up a completely new sport like softball or field hockey or lacrosse and still be really good at it. i’ve been doing track for two years now but i’ve had a ton of injuries and am in pain most of the time because i practice too intensely so i was considering a change of sport and be good at it (say above average) is that possible? thank you
I didn’t start playing rugby until I was 28…..and ended up starting for team that won the Mid-South Rugby Union. Never too late

I started swimming a year ago and qualified for the state tournament this year so as long as you work hard you can learn a new sport. By the way I am 16

you could defiantly start lacrosse or field hockey.
I am short also and play both of them…. although the field hockey season is over, lacrosse fall/winter clinics are starting so you could sign up for those that way when its lacrosse season you will know the sport. SInce your in track that will really help you in lacrosse because you have to be fast….i play attack and its almost an advantage to be short because i can sneak by people…. you will love lacrosse so i would sign up for some clinics!

The sports you mentioned take a lot of hand-eye coordination, but if you have that, it’s not too late. It’ll take a while to understand the rules and different situation and just how to play in general. I love fast-pitch softball. It’s a great, fast tempo sport.
