Of course! If softball isn’t a sport, then what is??

It’s a game in which success is dependent on the athletic skills of the competitors. That’s exactly what a sport is! At least that’s my definition of a sport.

As for overhand vs. underhand, I wouldn’t say either one is harder, they’re just completely different. I know that we’ve seen softball pitchers striking out MLB players on TV, but I’m sure the same would happen with softball hitters and MLB pitchers – in both cases, the hitter is simply not used to it, and will struggle.

I’m also strongly disappointed at the removal of softball and baseball from the Olympics. I know they cite lack of international appeal, but that’s just wrong. More like lack of European appeal, and I guess the IOC can’t take that. Gotta make the Europeans happy, of course.

y i think its a sport cuz u have to run supper hard hit the ball and catch not to mention have a ton of practices

yes, i have played softball ever since i was little it is defff a sport & no one has the right to say other wise. we work just as hard as baseball players and we deserve the same amount of respect for playing it. softball should never have been took out of the olympics!

If you were to consider baseball a sport you'd have to consider softball a sport too. It's pretty ridiculous if not, both train just as hard for basically the same activity.

heck yeah its a sport!!! some of those girls out there are butt kickers…65 mile an hour under hand is no joke…ive been struck out plenty by girls…so, yes it is 100%

Yes, it's absolutely a sport. People are haters and the one thing that I had to learn in my life is that if a bunch of people are saying something negative, often your are better to believe the opposite. People live on being mean to others so they feel better about themselves.
