Totallycharmed, Daniele Lawrie did not play for Washington and the Canadian Olympic team in 2008 she took off from college in 2008 to train and play for team Canada. Speaking of the Olympics it’s a disgrace that in 2005 the IOC voted to remove softball from the Olynpics starting in 2012. And the vote to do so was by only one lousy vote. Women’s softball is so much better than women’s basketball where the players can’t shoot and women’s soccer where the games are too low scoring and boring.

Danielle Lawrie is such an exciting and great softball pitcher and player. To me she’s the Tim Tebow of college softball with her awesome determination and will to win and commanding and intimidating physical presence. But the 2009 Huskies were alot more than Lawrie and a bunch of players riding her coattails. They were more talented than they were given credit for. Their top 3 speedy hitters all lefthanded were a nightmare for Stacey Nelson and Florida in the 2009 championship series.
