lol, i was just wondering why its considered a lesbian sport. i never understood that. anyone know?
Wow Animal Luvr, that was really offensive and maybe you should think about what you’re saying before you say something. To start with, I’m not lesbian and none of my teammates are lesbian. So that’s offensive that you said that it’s common for softball players to be lesbian because most aren’t. And I’m sure you upset some gay people by saying it’s a way for them to get hot and sweaty together. And it’s not just for tomboys and butches. Some of the preppiest people play softball.
It’s not a lesbian sport anymore. That was the stereotype ten to twenty years ago. Now it’s a sport that many people enjoy and most of which aren’t lesbian. And men play the sport, so are you going to call them gay for playing? Seriously…
Yes, its considered a sport for tomboys, or butch lesbian types.
But thats not to say that all softball players are lesbians, its just really common for there to be lesbians on the team.
Its a good way for lesbians to meet other lesbians, and get sweaty and hot together.

i totally agree with ktgurl. that is the worst stereotype ever. i have played softball for 12 years and im not a lesbian. in all my twelve years of playing with about a hundred different girls, i can only think of three girls that were lesbians. I think that you would find that ratio in any sport. It is a much more preppy sport now because softball players hate the negative stereotype of being gay. If you watch any of the college softball games, all the girls wear makeup and ribbons. And have you ever seen Jennie Finch? She was voted the hottest female athlete and she is definitely not gay.
