    Old school thinking …
Old school thinking on hitting. No one is staying with the rotational hitting. Check out Right View Pro and learn the right way to hit. College programs are going to it for a reason.

  2. pfffffffffffffft Says:

    ure stupid… u …
ure stupid… u dont swing up at the ball..
decent softball batters have there hands high watch the ball and use high bat speeds to reach the ball as it moves. u obviously have not experienced decent softball pitchers…or analysed successful swings in softball…not just baseball.
@softballSNJ your completley right. no doubt about it..
    this guys stupid

  3. Atrainyoooo43 Says:

    Could be most …
Could be most college level pitchers have about 6 different breaking pitches (curve, drop curve, knuckle, screwball, change, & riser) plus a 65 mph fastball which thrown from 43 feet gives a hitter about as much reaction time as a 95 mph fastball thrown from 60’6″. The fastball has a downward spin on it which causes it to drop slightly which is completely different from a baseball. MLB hitters have tried to hit fast pitch softballs and have really looked foolish.

    wow that was really …
wow that was really good advice now i pretty much no about how to pitch !!!!

  5. max66bhs Says:

    I see, you now …
I see, you now disregard statistics. The baseball swing does not get proper extension. I have no idea what this means. Hands out quickly to the ball, out in front as it were. Next you will be telling me to stand right on top of home plate. The fact is, the closer you stand to home plate the more out in front you have to be, to get full extension with the barrel of the bat in the strike zone. Every decent hitter agrees, the longer you can see a ball the better off you will be. Men throw 85mph.

  6. SoftballSNJ Says:

    You can keep …
You can keep arguing this all you want, its already been disproved. Everyone knows that the a baseball swing doesn’t get to proper extension on a softball pitch as it does on a baseball pitch. The only core similarities is rotational power and that is how power hitters arise in softball, while that keep their same swing that is specifically for getting the hands out quickly to the ball. How about you go test your sacred hitter’s techniques on a softball pitcher of worth. Then you’ll see

  7. max66bhs Says:

It is nice that you …
It is nice that you all learned how to do some drills but perhaps one of you could explain, using some objective reasoning and some facts why pitchers dominate Fast Pitch.

    How does this sound…

No one knows how to hit.

There are 30 teams in MLB and 34 guys hit .300 last year and 4 of them were on the NYY.

Something like 10 teams did not have a .300 hitter….the league minimum in pay is 400k and the average pay is 3 million.

    Most of them stink.

  8. max66bhs Says:

    No sense? The …
No sense? The strike zone is the same. The ball is in the same place at the same time or does your softball pitcher know of some other strike zone, a magical one? The object here is to get the barrel of the bat to the right place at the correct time. The pitch matters very little if the swing is correct and the rotation method is designed for one thing, Home Runs. Go look up the life time batting average guys and then the home run per at bat guys…see how many modern day guys are in each.

omg i have to do …
omg i have to do this stuff every practice! i feel good knowing other people have learned these great drills that u need to become a better player

  10. max66bhs Says:

    The release point …
The release point and the reaction time have nothing to do with technique. You get use to both or you fail. Rotational hitting, which is what is being taught here was designed by baseball players for home run production. Do you think Miss Rapp thought this up? Derick Jetter is a great hitter and would crush in Fast Pitch because he the strike zone is still the same. His technique is very good which is why he is such a good Steroid Free hitter. Derrick learned from Charlie

  11. max66bhs Says:

    Hitting is hitting. …
Hitting is hitting. The only pitch that is different in fast pitch is the rise ball and if you swing up at that pitch you are dead. The bottom line in all hitting is to come down on the ball, which is why you seem most good hitters in both SB and BB beginning their swing with their hands held high, with the strike zone far below them. As a result most of them swing downward to meet the pitch. Ted Williams kept his hands very low and at times swung up at the ball but he was a freak of nature.

  12. SoftballSNJ Says:

    And I meant they …
And I meant they will swing right under most if not all good Softball Pitches. There is a Jennie Finch video that gives some explanation as to why this is. YOU should go check that out.

  13. SoftballSNJ Says:

    ….What you said …
….What you said makes no sense. But once again this is SOFTBALL hitting, not Baseball. Like I said a Baseball pitch goes from High to Low, A Softball Pitch can go absolutely straight, Low to High, or High to low as well for a drop ball. It’s easy to hit efficiently the Charlie Lau way in baseball because the ball is not pitched with the same movement, plus you have less reaction time. It would be detrimental to teach the same swing to a softball player

  14. max66bhs Says:

    How can you swing …
How can you swing under something if you swing down at it? This swing is designed to hit long, high fly balls VS line drives. This swing teaches you to swing up at the ball. How can anyone one hit a rise ball by swinging up at it? Charlie is correct and he has the numbers to prove it. Just go look at the list of 3000 hit guys, all but Ted Williams swing for line drives

  15. SoftballSNJ Says:

    I would never teach …
I would never teach a GIRLS softball team to hit the Charlie Lau method. It’s baseball hitting designed to hit a baseball’s trajectory which is coming downward, meaning they will swing right under most pitches, or simply pop up to one of the fielders. There isn’t one specific golden way of hitting, but this video shows the core fundamentals for good SOFTBALL hitting.

  16. max66bhs Says:

    because these are …
because these are not the fundamentals of hitting, they are the fundamentals of a golf swing. You too should go look up Charlie Lau and learn the proper way to hit.

  17. SoftballSNJ Says:

    I don’t understand …
I don’t understand why youre getting all riled up about someone teaching the FUNDAMENTALS of hitting. That should be your foundation THEN you can work on becoming a slap hitter, being well rounded is how girls get into those Pac-10 schools.

  18. WakumotoWeltyBabii34 Says:

    well belive her …
well belive her because i play fastpitch softball nd thats exactly what all my coaches told me so ya,. your just annoying me do you even know how to play softball..

Nice work. keep it up. mean time come for social media marketing for esteembpo**com FHGKM

  20. max66bhs Says:

    I do not believe …
I do not believe her either. But do yourself a favor and Google a guy named Charlie Lau. Read what he has to say about hitting. I think you will like it.

  21. Funkysocks18 Says:

    i dont really …
i dont really believe her because she is best friends with the biggest liar ever!

  22. TheSoftballdad Says:

    slow players need …
slow players need to use the power swing and be picky…faster kids should have a shorter quicker bat…they set it up the biggies bring’em in

  23. TheSoftballdad Says:

    I believe that they …
I believe that they need to tailor the hitting to the kids speed…if you have a kid thats not gonna be a speed demon they need to swing with power(crystal bustos)…if ya got some speed you need a shorter swing where you are just making the contact and then use your speed and those kids also need to learn to slap…then once ya get those kids on base your power hitters can swing big to bring in the runs…what most people dont is the slap and most dont teach it properly.

  24. max66bhs Says:

    I see…and just …
I see…and just how many at bats did your friend have in this .1000 season…5? What I am talking about is something closer to 400 AB’s per season. Go check out all the 3000 hit guys from MLB. 99% of them do not hit like this. Think Charlie Lau.

  25. Funkysocks18 Says:

    oh yea my friend …
oh yea my friend batted 1000 last seasone thats more talent in her lefat big toe than you have in your whole body!
