Best Sport For A Non-Athlete To Play?

Posted by admin on February 27th, 2010 and filed under softball is the best sport | 7 Comments »

This fall, I’ll hopefully be attending a boarding school in New York. They offer a wide variety of sports, and although I’ve never been much of an athlete, I feel like it’s a great opportunity to try out something new. I really want to experience the joys of being on a sports team but, like I said before, I’m not an athlete.
So what I’m asking is this:
What would be a good sport out of the choices below that I could learn pretty quickly, isn’t too aggressive, and doesn’t require an insane amount of work (i.e., strength training for 2 hours a day)? Let me just add that I’m not lazy at all, but I don’t think I’ll have the time or energy to begin an extremely difficult sport.
Sports Available At The School:
Field Hockey
Soccer
Volleyball
Tennis
Cross Country
Swimming
Basketball
Lacrosse
Softball
Crew
Track

Thanks!

Any of these sports will require for you to dedicate time if you want to become good at it.

However if you are doing it just for the experience of joining a team, I suggest you either go for Volleyball or Softball. They may be less demanding (compared to the other sports) in terms of how fit you must be, while allowing you to spend time with your team mates and becoming part of a group.
