Are there professional softball leagues where they can get paid? Do they only try out for the national team? Do they coach, announce, umpire, what?
theres a professional softball league in america. there are only six teams so its only the best of the best. Of course there are also olympics and stuff in which they get paid for
What do college softball players do after college if they continue their sport?
WHAt IS THE BEST SPORT FOOTBALL, BASKETBALL, BASEBALL, SOCCER, SOFTBALL, HOCKEY, OR OTHER?
Football. Baseball blows and I love hockey too
Why does everyone seem to think softball is a "lesbians" sport?
I have played for over 10 years, and I am definitely NOT a lesbian.
Whats up with this sterotype?
Im 18 years old, and my aunt who I’m very close with is a lesbian.
So it isnt that Im ignorant to all that, I just do not understand.
Thats how people are, keep playing the game you love and just ignore them.
What sport is more physically demanding, Cross Country or Softball?
My friend keeps saying its softball, but I believe its cross country. Can you also tell me why you believe its harder?
CC…. is it not obvious? Look at the typical runner and compare it to a softball player.
What is your favorite sport, volleyball, basketball, or softball?
I love all three of these sports and I am currently playing all of them in my school.
That’s hard! I played all of those in school too.
I played softball for 5 years, volleyball for 7, and basketball for 2.
I’d say volleyball!
People make fun of me for playing softball, what do you think? Is it a legitimate sport?
I love softball and it’s so much fun but people keep telling me it’s not "a real sport"
Am I the only one who gives it a lot of credit for being a great sport?
I wonder how much people are laughing about all the college athletes that play NCAA softball and get an athletic scholarship. I wonder if the losers that make fun of you will ever have such lofty goals.
Just look at all the colleges that have Softball as a varsity sport not too mention practically every state has Softball as a state championship.
ESPN has expanded coverage of NCAA COLLEGE SOFTBALL SERIES because over the last couple of years the level of interest has gone up.
also Softball was an Olympic Sport and generated allot of media attention here in the USA I mean 1 year the USA team was even on the cover of SI. I have strong feeling by 2016 either in Chicago or Tokyo the sport will be back.
I’ve got softball in sports day today but I’m bad at hitting the ball, any tips?
I want to do my best, but it’s not my fave sport. i already practice tae kwon do and running, I dont have time for softball too
Well if you don’t have time for softball then don’t worry how you do. If you want tips on how to hit the best thing I can tell you is just relax. Take a deep breath and watch the ball as it comes to you then follow through with a level swing. I know easier said than done. You can also do "soft toss". It’s where you toss the ball in front of you and try to hit it. It’s good for build handing and eye coordination. Remember to have fun!
Why is womens soccer, or sports as a matter of fact, never televised?
I mean, i have never ever in my whole entrie life, have seen, ESPN SportsNET, TSN or anything like that… put a womens game on tv! Whether its hockey, football, softball, soccer, lacrosse, swimming, etc! (except for the Olympics of course)
But thats not fair! Women never get any media attention or sometimes, even paid to play the sport they love! Like they dont make sports cards of female players or sell female jerseys and posters!
Why is it that this happens?
What are some solutions?
And how can we make the public enjoy watching women in sports!
soccer isn’t that widely shown to begin with and only the big games are shown on tv like world cup and stuff like that they need to have a network for us soccer on regular cable then they can show the full national teams and the development teams like the u-20 team and others
I play softball but i want to play a new sport?
I play on a softball team and have played for three years and it is starting to get boring and i have been thinking of taking up a new sport i have thought about snowboarding and a couple other things. Any idea on what i should do? I also have asthma which kinda limits my search. i kinda want a non team sport though i want something i can do by my self without having to count on other people.
Should i try snowboarding? is it fun? is it hard?
I am 13 if that helps
there are plenty of things you can do:
volleyball
basketball-might be hard on asthma but you can go in and out and bring your inhaler. I have a friend w/ really bad asthma and she is a soccer freak(soccer takes a lot of running)
cheerleading
pingpong
bowling
snowbording
snow skiing
knee bording-that is really fun
swimming
you could even try academic things like mock trial or quiz bowl.
the list could go on and on… but i really advise you to keep playing the sport you are best at and you have been playing, if it gets too easy challenge yourself, get on a travel ball team, aim for collage, or varsity softball, i have been playing travel ball for 2 years, i have had some great coaches that challenge me. I’m sure snowbording is very fun and exciting, but it will be hard to start up at 13. Most of the time you need to find a sport and keep challenging yourself so you can get really good at it and play at the collage level instead of getting board of a sport and give up on it. But snowbording could be fun if you are determined for a change, if you don’t like snowbording, snow skiing is also an option, i think it is a lot funner than snow bording.
